ab250359 is the carrier-free version of Anti-MMP23 antibody [EPR7769] ab181118.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
The protein MMP23 also known as matrix metalloproteinase-23 plays a role in tissue remodeling and cellular processes. MMP23 is unique due to its membrane-type structure distinguishing it from other MMP family members. The protein weighs approximately 44 kDa. MMP23 is mainly found in a variety of tissues including the testis ovary and placenta but its expression is notably less widespread compared to other metalloproteinases.
Matrix metalloproteinase-23 contributes to modulating extracellular matrix degradation. Unlike some MMPs MMP23 is part of a transmembrane complex impacting localized tissue environments. It influences cellular growth and communication through its regulatory effects on the extracellular space. Such interactions play a part in processes like cell migration and signal transduction important for normal physiological and developmental activities.
MMP23 participates in specific biochemical pathways important for tissue repair and immune response. One significant pathway is the extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling pathway where MMP23 interacts with other metalloproteinases such as MMP2. Additionally MMP23's activity affects signaling pathways by altering the ECM components which can influence cellular behaviors linked to proliferation and apoptosis.
Matrix metalloproteinase-23 implicates its role in certain pathologies including cancer and inflammatory diseases. Its ability to modify the extracellular matrix associates it with tumor invasion and metastasis particularly through interactions with proteins like TIMP (tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases). Inflammatory conditions also show altered MMP23 activity indicating its potential involvement in chronic inflammation pathophysiology.
