ab250121 is the carrier-free version of Anti-MRPL30 antibody [EPR12502] ab179819.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
MRPL30 also known as Mitochondrial Ribosomal Protein L30 is a component of the mitochondrial ribosome. This protein has a molecular mass of approximately 42.7 kDa and is encoded by the MRPL30 gene. Expression of MRPL30 occurs mainly in mitochondria across various tissues where it is involved in protein synthesis within the mitochondria. Its presence is important for the maintenance of mitochondrial function as it helps translate mitochondrial RNA into essential proteins.
MRPL30 contributes to mitochondrial protein synthesis as a part of the large subunit in the mitochondrial ribosome complex. This complex differs from cytoplasmic ribosomes due to its unique protein-to-rRNA composition reflecting its specific role within mitochondria. MRPL30's involvement in the formation of the ribosomal subunit supports the production of proteins necessary for oxidative phosphorylation. This synthesis is essential for energy production and normal cellular metabolism.
The functioning of MRPL30 integrates into mitochondrial protein synthesis and oxidative phosphorylation pathways. The protein ensures the efficient translation of mitochondrial-encoded genes important for ATP production through oxidative phosphorylation. It interacts with other ribosomal proteins such as MRPL28 and MRPL44 important for the assembly and function of the mitochondrial ribosome and thereby sustaining cellular energy demands.
Alterations in MRPL30 expression or function can link to mitochondrial dysfunction-related disorders including mitochondrial diseases. These diseases often result from impaired ATP production due to defective oxidative phosphorylation. Research also associates MRPL30 with neurodegenerative diseases as mitochondria play an important role in neuronal function. Its interaction with other mitochondrial ribosomal proteins like MRPS12 can affect mitochondrial translation stability contributing to the pathophysiology of such disorders.
