Required for organization of the cellular microtubule array and microtubule anchoring at the centrosome. May regulate microtubule organization at least in part by targeting the microtubule severing protein KATNA1 to the centrosome. Also positively regulates the activity of the minus-end directed microtubule motor protein dynein. May enhance dynein-mediated microtubule sliding by targeting dynein to the microtubule plus ends. Required for several dynein- and microtubule-dependent processes such as the maintenance of Golgi integrity, the centripetal motion of secretory vesicles and the coupling of the nucleus and centrosome. Also required during brain development for the migration of newly formed neurons from the ventricular/subventricular zone toward the cortical plate. Plays a role, together with DISC1, in the regulation of neurite outgrowth. Required for mitosis in some cell types but appears to be dispensible for mitosis in cortical neuronal progenitors, which instead requires NDE1. Facilitates the polymerization of neurofilaments from the individual subunits NEFH and NEFL. Positively regulates lysosome peripheral distribution and ruffled border formation in osteoclasts (By similarity).

ab248046 is the carrier-free version of Anti-NDEL1 antibody [EPR5068] ab124895.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
NDEL1 also known as Nudel or nuclear distribution element-like 1 is a protein with a molecular mass of around 38 kDa. It plays a role mechanically by participating in microtubule and centrosome-related processes. In terms of expression NDEL1 is found in both the central nervous system and several peripheral tissues. Its localization relates to its function in cellular dynamics particularly involving the cytoskeleton.
NDEL1 interacts within a multi-protein complex called the dynein motor complex. This association is critical for the process of neuronal migration and axonal transport involving the movement of cellular components along microtubules. The protein acts as a linking agent facilitating microtubule assembly and organization which are essential for maintaining cellular structure and function.
The role of NDEL1 in cytoskeletal dynamics integrates into key pathways such as the cell cycle and neurodevelopmental processes. It interacts with proteins like LIS1 in the cell cycle pathway which affects mitosis. Moreover its interaction with dynein emphasizes its role in intracellular transport during neurodevelopment indicating its aosphysical involvement in brain architecture.
NDEL1 has a significant connection with neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. Its association with LIS1 and the disruption of their interaction contributes to lissencephaly a condition marked by smooth brain surface. Additionally alterations in NDEL1 function also connect with Alzheimer's disease due to its role in neuronal structural maintenance alongside proteins such as tau that become dysregulated.

We have systematically measured KD (the equilibrium dissociation constant between the antibody and its antigen), of more than 840 recombinant antibodies to assess not only their individual KD values but also to see the average affinity of antibody.
Based on the comparison with published literature values for mouse monoclonal antibodies, Recombinant antibodies appear to be on average 1-2 order of magnitude higher affinity.
