Product details

ab247819 is the carrier-free version of ab109288.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

NETO2 also known as Neuropilin and Tolloid-Like 2 is a transmembrane protein with a known mass of approximately 58 kDa. This protein functions mechanically as an auxiliary subunit for kainate receptors in the central nervous system. Researchers observe its expression predominantly in neurons but also in some other tissues. NETO2 alongside its variants impacts receptor functionality by modulating properties like receptor trafficking and kinetic attributes.
Biological function summary

The protein affects synaptic plasticity and neuronal communication. NETO2 forms part of a receptor complex with kainate receptors influencing synaptic transmission processes. This association is significant for excitatory neurotransmission which is important for learning and memory. Researchers emphasize the role of NETO2 in maintaining neuronal circuit efficiency and integrity.

Pathways

NETO2 involvement strongly ties to glutamatergic synapse pathways. It influences neuronal signaling through kainate receptor modulation which in turn affects calcium ion permeation. NETO2 also interacts with other proteins like GRIP1 (Glutamate Receptor Interacting Protein 1) within these pathways orchestrating synaptic stability and function.

Researchers link NETO2 alterations mainly to psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and neurodevelopmental disorders. In these contexts aberrant interactions with proteins like PSD95 (Postsynaptic Density Protein 95) could disrupt normal synaptic functioning. Researchers continue to investigate how dysregulation in NETO2 contributes to the molecular pathways underlying these conditions.

Target data

Accessory subunit of neuronal kainate-sensitive glutamate receptors, GRIK2 and GRIK3. Increases kainate-receptor channel activity, slowing the decay kinetics of the receptors, without affecting their expression at the cell surface, and increasing the open probability of the receptor channels. Modulates the agonist sensitivity of kainate receptors. Slows the decay of kainate receptor-mediated excitatory postsynaptic currents (EPSCs), thus directly influencing synaptic transmission (By similarity).
