Supplementary info

Biological function summary

This protein plays an essential role in neuronal development and synaptic connections. Netrin G2 acts as a part of cell surface signaling modules allowing interaction with other molecular entities. It binds to Netrin G2 ligands which helps stabilize long-range axonal trajectories. Due to this function Netrin G2 contributes to maintaining proper neural circuit assembly necessary for cognitive functions.

Activity summary

Netrin G2 also known as Netrin-G2 or NTNG2 is a protein that weighs approximately 61 kDa. Netrin G2 belongs to the Netrin family and operates through binding with its receptors. It is expressed mainly in the central nervous system particularly in the brain regions like cortex and hippocampus. The protein facilitates communication across nerve cells by directing axon guidance and maintaining synaptic plasticity.

Pathways

Netrin G2 plays a part in the axon guidance and synaptogenesis pathways. It interacts with other guidance cues proteins such as DCC (Deleted in Colorectal Cancer) and UNC5B (Unc-5 Netrin Receptor B) which also participate in the regulation of axonal mapping. Throughout these pathways it ensures neurons reach their correct destination therefore influencing neural map precision and adaptability.

Associated diseases and disorders

Mutations or dysregulation of Netrin G2 have associations with neurological conditions like schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders. Alterations in Netrin G2 might affect its interaction with related proteins like DCC in these conditions. These disruptions can contribute to improper brain function by interfering with typical pathways of axonal targeting and synaptic stability.

We have systematically measured KD (the equilibrium dissociation constant between the antibody and its antigen), of more than 840 recombinant antibodies to assess not only their individual KD values but also to see the average affinity of antibody.
Based on the comparison with published literature values for mouse monoclonal antibodies, Recombinant antibodies appear to be on average 1-2 order of magnitude higher affinity.
