NKX2.8 also known as NK2 homeobox 8 is a transcription factor weighing approximately 35 kDa. This protein contains a DNA-binding domain that allows it to influence gene expression. NKX2.8 acts within the nucleus and predominantly appears in tissues such as the lung and heart suggesting a role in organ-specific gene regulation.
