Product details

ab249222 is the carrier-free version of ab155969.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

NOP58 also known as Nop58p is a nucleolar protein involved in the biogenesis of small nucleolar ribonucleoproteins (snoRNPs). This protein weighs approximately 58 kDa. Researchers find NOP58 expressed in the nucleolus of eukaryotic cells. NOP58 is part of the box C/D small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) complex which plays a critical role in the maturation and modification of pre-rRNA.
Biological function summary

NOP58 contributes to the assembly and function of snoRNPs which guide the chemical modification of rRNA particularly 2'-O-methylation. This modification has significance for proper ribosome assembly and function. NOP58 does not work alone; it forms part of a complex with other proteins such as NOP56 Fibrillarin and SNU13. These proteins come together to accurately target and chemically modify specific rRNA sequences.

Pathways

NOP58 participates in the ribosome biogenesis and rRNA processing pathways. These pathways are essential for producing the ribosomal units required for protein synthesis. NOP58 functions alongside proteins like NOP56 and Fibrillarin in modifying rRNA which is critical within the nucleolus. Proper functioning of these pathways ensures the cell maintains protein synthesis efficiency and accuracy.

Alterations in NOP58 may affect nucleolar function potentially leading to ribosomopathies. Disruptions in NOP58 can potentially associate with conditions such as cancer where nucleolar activity is often altered. Proteins like Fibrillarin associated with snoRNP complexes may also be implicated in these diseases as they share involvement in similar pathways and complex functions with NOP58.

Target data

Required for the biogenesis of box C/D snoRNAs such as U3, U8 and U14 snoRNAs (PubMed : 15574333, PubMed : 17636026, PubMed : 19620283, PubMed : 34516797). Part of the small subunit (SSU) processome, first precursor of the small eukaryotic ribosomal subunit. During the assembly of the SSU processome in the nucleolus, many ribosome biogenesis factors, an RNA chaperone and ribosomal proteins associate with the nascent pre-rRNA and work in concert to generate RNA folding, modifications, rearrangements and cleavage as well as targeted degradation of pre-ribosomal RNA by the RNA exosome (PubMed : 34516797). Core component of box C/D small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (snoRNP) complexes that function in methylation of multiple sites on ribosomal RNAs (rRNAs) and messenger RNAs (mRNAs) (PubMed : 39570315).
