Z- and S- Score : The Z-score represents the strength of a signal that a monoclonal antibody (MAb) (in combination with a fluorescently-tagged anti-IgG secondary antibody) produces when binding to a particular protein on the HuProtTM array. Z-scores are described in units of standard deviations (SD's) above the mean value of all signals generated on that array. If targets on HuProtTM are arranged in descending order of the Z-score, the S-score is the difference (also in units of SD's) between the Z-score. Biological function summary
P53 functions to control cell division and apoptosis serving as a guardian of the genome by preventing mutation accumulation. It does not form part of a larger complex under normal conditions but interacts with various other molecules to execute its functions. p53 can activate or suppress the transcription of numerous genes involved in cell cycle arrest DNA repair and programmed cell death allowing it to halt the progression of damaged cells and trigger repair mechanisms or eliminate those that cannot be repaired.
