The PACAP receptor also known as ADCYAP1R1 is a G-protein-coupled receptor that interacts with the neuropeptide PACAP (Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptide). This receptor plays a role in transmitting extracellular signals into cellular responses. It is comprised of approximately 525 amino acids with a considerable molecular mass of around 59 kDa. The PACAP receptors are widely expressed in the central nervous system including regions like the hypothalamus hippocampus and cerebellum.
