Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Anti-Pannexin 3 antibody (AB237055)
HepG2 (Human liver hepatocellular carcinoma cell line) cells stained for Pannexin 3 (green) using ab237055 at 1/133 dilution in ICC/IF, followed by an Alexa-Fluor®488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L). Counterstained with DAPI (blue).
The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal goat serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C.

Biological function summary
The protein functions at the cellular level include regulation of calcium signaling and ATP release which influences various cell functions. Panx3 often exists as a part of complexes with other similar proteins like connexins which play roles in forming gap junctions. These activities are essential in controlling cellular interactions and maintaining tissue function particularly in supporting cartilage and bone homeostasis.
Pathways
Panx3 influences critical biological processes including the Wnt and PI3K-AKT pathways which are significant in cell proliferation differentiation and survival. Within these pathways Panx3 interacts with proteins such as β-catenin in the Wnt signaling and AKT in the PI3K-AKT pathway. Its activities in these pathways underline its involvement in cellular growth and development processes.
