Biological function summary
PARVA plays a role in cytoskeletal organization and cell shape regulation. As part of the integrin-linked kinase (ILK) complex it connects integrins at the cell surface with actin filaments in the cytoskeleton. This complex formation influences intracellular signaling pathways allowing cells to respond to mechanical stress and environmental signals. The dynamic restructuring of the actin cytoskeleton through PARVA is essential for cellular motility and morphogenesis.
