PCBP3 also known as Poly(rC)-binding protein 3 plays an important role in RNA binding and regulation. This protein has a molecular mass of approximately 38 kDa. PCBP3 gets expressed in many tissues including liver heart and brain suggesting a widespread functional importance. PCBP3 belongs to a family of proteins that includes PCBP1 and PCBP2 all sharing a conserved hnRNP K homology domain involved in nucleic acid binding.
