The protein is typically localized within the nucleus and holds a zinc finger motif that suggests its ability to interact with nucleic acids impacting gene transcription and apoptosis mechanisms.
Biological function summary

PDCD2 influences cell proliferation and apoptosis which makes it an important factor in maintaining cellular homeostasis.
