ab248126 is the carrier-free version of Anti-PDCD2 antibody [EPR7159] ab126614.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
The programmed cell death protein 2 (PDCD2) plays a significant role in apoptosis also known as programmed cell death. It has alternate names such as RP8 and it is composed of approximately 38 kDa. PDCD2 expression occurs widely across various tissues which indicates a basic function in cellular processes. The protein is typically localized within the nucleus and holds a zinc finger motif that suggests its ability to interact with nucleic acids impacting gene transcription and apoptosis mechanisms.
PDCD2 influences cell proliferation and apoptosis which makes it an important factor in maintaining cellular homeostasis. Researchers have identified PDCD2 as a part of the nucleosome assembly that contributes to chromatin organization. This assembly implicates PDCD2 in DNA replication and transcription regulation. By influencing these processes PDCD2 supports normal cell cycle progression affirming its importance in cellular growth and division.
Programmed cell death and cell cycle pathways are among the significant processes involving PDCD2. It interacts with the p53 pathway an important regulator of the cell cycle and apoptosis. This interaction highlights the importance of PDCD2 in genomic stability and stress responses. PDCD2 also associates with BCL-2 family proteins which further integrates its function with apoptotic and survival pathways showcasing its role in controlling cell fate.
PDCD2 has a connection to cancer and autoimmune diseases. Its dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell growth frequently observed in malignancies such as leukemia. PDCD2 downregulation is associated with an increase in tumorigenic behaviors relating to its interaction with proteins like p53 that are often mutated or dysfunctional in cancers. In autoimmune disorders PDCD2 implications suggest its role in abnormal immune cell apoptosis leading to prolonged immune cell survival which contributes to pathological autoimmunity.
