Supplementary information

PDZRN3 also known as LNX3 or SEMCAP3 is a protein with significant involvement in cellular and signaling processes. As a member of the LNX family of proteins PDZRN3 features PDZ domains RING finger motifs and a mass of around 90 kDa. This protein is expressed throughout various tissues including the heart and skeletal muscle. Its structure allows it to interact with proteins containing PDZ-binding motifs offering versatility in its mechanical role within the cell.
Biological function summary

PDZRN3 plays a role in modulating cellular signaling pathways and is significant in developmental processes such as myogenesis and osteogenesis. It can form protein complexes through its PDZ domains enabling it to serve as a scaffold for partner proteins. PDZRN3's influence in cellular differentiation highlights its importance in tissue development and structural integrity.

Pathways

PDZRN3 acts within pathways associated with the Wnt signaling and Hippo pathways. These pathways involve key proteins that control cell proliferation and apoptosis. PDZRN3 interacts with proteins such as Dishevelled in the Wnt signaling pathway and supports the regulation of cell fate and growth. Through these interactions PDZRN3 influences pivotal decisions within cellular processes that maintain homeostasis and facilitate development.

PDZRN3 has correlations with cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Aberrant expression of PDZRN3 can affect cell growth and differentiation contributing to tumorigenesis and the progression of certain cancer types. In cardiovascular contexts imbalances in PDZRN3 expression may disrupt signaling pathways that ensure normal heart function. By interacting with proteins linked to these diseases PDZRN3 emerges as a therapeutic target of interest for further research and intervention strategies.
