Peroxiredoxin Asp f3 also known as Prx Asp f3 or Peroxiredoxin 3 is a protein with a molecular mass of approximately 27 kDa. This protein functions mechanically as an antioxidant enzyme. It catalyzes the reduction of hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxides using thiol-containing molecules as electron donors. Peroxiredoxin Asp f3 mainly localizes in the mitochondria where it protects cells from oxidative stress.
