Immunoprecipitation - Anti-PGRMC2 antibody (AB104437)
Detection of PGRMC2 in immunoprecipitates of HeLa whole cell lysate (1 mg lysate for IP, 20% of IP loaded on gel) using ab104437 at 3 µg/mg lysate for IP. An anti-PGRMC2 antibody which recognizes a downstream epitope was used at 1 µg/ml for subsequent western blot detection.
Detection : chemiluminescence with exposure time of 10 seconds.

Biological function summary
PGRMC2 participates in multiple cellular processes related to cell survival and metabolism. It often functions as part of larger protein complexes and interacts with other proteins affecting mitochondrial function and steroid signaling. Its biological role includes influencing mitochondrial respiration and energy homeostasis critical processes in numerous cellular functions. Researchers have discovered that PGRMC2 interacts with heme impacting vital cellular and metabolic functions.
Pathways
PGRMC2 is active in steroid hormone signaling and cellular stress response pathways. It interacts with proteins like cytochrome P450 which is significant for the metabolism of various substances and heme oxygenase which regulates the degradation of heme. These interactions highlight PGRMC2's impact on vital pathways involved in maintaining cellular stability and response mechanisms.
