Plexin-B3 also known as PLXNB3 is a membrane protein with an estimated mass of approximately 215 kDa. It functions as a receptor for semaphorins particularly Sema5A in cell signaling processes. Plexin-B3 influences actin cytoskeleton rearrangement by interacting with the Rho GTPase family members. It is expressed in several tissues including the brain kidney and heart which suggests its diverse roles in different cellular contexts.
Plexin-B3 modulates cellular processes such as growth adhesion migration and axon guidance. It forms complexes with other proteins such as Met and ErbB2 indicating its involvement in diverse signaling pathways. This protein plays an important role in the nervous system influencing neural circuit formation and neuronal connectivity.
