ab271853 does not cross react with Tween20.
The smallest PEG molecule which our antibody can detect is PEG750. Based on customer feedback, the largest PEG molecule detected is PEG 40K. Additionally, ab271853 detects both linear and branched PEG based on our in-house ELISA testing.
Tween 20 usage: Tween 20 is a detergent that can interfere with ELISA and potentially other applications (often used in antibody dilution buffers, such as TBST) when using anti-PEG products. Our anti-mPEG antibody [PEG-B-47b] reacts to the methoxy group of Polyethylene glycol (PEG). There is no methoxy group in Tween 20, which should not interfere with the function of this antibody.
If you have any questions on our PEG products - please visit our Polyethylene glycol (PEG) FAQs page.
ab271853 is the unconjugated, carrier-free version of Biotin Anti-Polyethylene glycol antibody [PEG-B-47b] ab53449.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
