Product details

ab314568 is a BSA and Azide Free antibody supplied in an unconjugated format and it is suitable for sandwich ELISAs to quantify Human PPIC. The recommended pair for sandwich ELISA is:

Capture: ab314567, Human PPIC Capture Antibody (unconjugated)

Detector: ab314568, Human PPIC Detector Antibody (unconjugated)

The reference range value is 9.77-1250 pg/mL.

The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization for ELISAbased assays. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type. Please note that the range provided for this antibody is only an estimation based on the performance of the product using the recommended antibody pair. Performance of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay. We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibody in your assay.

Our carrier-free formats are supplied in a buffer free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol for higher conjugation efficiency. The antibodies are provided at an approximate concentration of 1 mg/ml as measured by the protein A280 method. Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with <1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Supplementary information

The protein PPIC also known as Peptidylprolyl Isomerase C functions as a molecular chaperone by catalyzing the cis-trans isomerization of proline residues in peptide chains. This activity accelerates protein folding. PPIC has a molecular mass of approximately 18 kDa. You can find PPIC expression in many tissues with significant levels in the heart and skeletal muscle. It belongs to the cyclophilin family known for its role in facilitating protein folding due to its peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase activity.
Biological function summary

PPIC's role extends beyond simple protein folding as it forms part of a larger complex that assists in protein trafficking and assembly. It interacts with other proteins to ensure the proper folding and structural integrity of nascent peptides influencing their stability and function. The capacity to influence protein dynamics positions PPIC as an integral component of cellular homeostasis and protein quality control mechanisms.

Pathways

PPIC assumes important roles in cellular signaling and protein trafficking pathways. Notably it participates in pathways related to immunomodulation and stress response assisting in protein folding under stress conditions. Its interaction with calcineurin a protein phosphatase indicates its involvement in the immune response and other signaling pathways mediated by calcium ions where it can impact the function of other cyclophilin family proteins.

PPIC associates with conditions like cardiac hypertrophy and ischemic diseases. Its involvement in these conditions likely connects to its role in maintaining protein homeostasis and response to cellular stress. Moreover PPIC's interaction with the calcineurin/NFAT pathway implicates it in cardiovascular diseases as this pathway participates in heart disease pathology linking to proteins such as NFAT and calmodulin. Understanding PPIC's specific contributions to these diseases could provide insights into therapeutic targets for treating related disorders.
