PRPF8/Prp8 was immunoprecipitated from HEK-293T (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney transformed with large T antigen) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab245504 at 6 μg/mg lysate. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab245504 at 1 μg/ml.

Lane 1 : ab245504 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.

Lane 2 : Control IgG IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.

Functions as a scaffold that mediates the ordered assembly of spliceosomal proteins and snRNAs. Required for the assembly of the U4/U6-U5 tri-snRNP complex, a building block of the spliceosome. Functions as a scaffold that positions spliceosomal U2, U5 and U6 snRNAs at splice sites on pre-mRNA substrates, so that splicing can occur. Interacts with both the 5' and the 3' splice site.
