RCCD1 also known as RCG1 or RCG1A is a pivotal protein involved in regulating various cellular processes. It weighs approximately 28 kDa and primarily localizes in the nucleus. RCCD1 expression mainly occurs in tissues such as the brain and testes suggesting its importance in these specific sites. The protein interacts with other cellular components to carry out its functions effectively particularly playing a role in cellular division and growth regulation.
Biological function summary

RCCD1 integrates into the chromatin remodeling complex acting as an important modulator of transcriptional regulation. It serves to influence gene expression by modifying chromatin structure which impacts DNA accessibility. By participating in such complexes RCCD1 enables cellular adaptation to different growth conditions and stress responses.
