Product details

ab249072 is the carrier-free version of ab154172.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

RGS10 also known as Regulator of G-protein Signaling 10 is a 20 kDa protein that regulates G-protein signaling. This protein accelerates the GTPase activity of the G alpha subunits leading to termination of the G-protein signaling. RGS10 expresses mainly in the brain and immune cells where it modulates signal transduction processes. It influences cellular responses significantly due to its ability to deactivate active G-proteins by increasing their GTPase activity.
Biological function summary

RGS10 plays a role in immune responses and neural function. It is not typically part of larger protein complexes but it interacts independently with other proteins in cellular signaling pathways. In the immune system RGS10 influences various processes such as cytokine production and leukocyte function. In neurons RGS10 contributes to maintaining neural signaling by regulating neurotransmitter-related G-protein coupled receptor pathways.

Pathways

G-protein signaling pathways and the MAPK signaling pathway include RGS10 as an important regulatory protein. It modulates the G-protein coupled receptor signaling pathway an important aspect of cellular response to external stimuli. RGS10 also influences the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway by regulating upstream signaling events. These pathways involve proteins such as G alpha subunits and PI3 kinase which interact with RGS10 to control diverse physiological processes.

Individuals with altered RGS10 expression may have neurodegenerative diseases and inflammatory disorders. Alzheimer's disease is one condition where RGS10's regulatory control affects neuronal cell survival and tau phosphorylation a process implicated in disease progression. Regarding inflammation its interaction with NLRP3 inflammasome proteins connects RGS10 to inflammatory pathways which can lead to disorders like rheumatoid arthritis. Adjusting RGS10 levels might modulate disease mechanisms highlighting its potential therapeutic interest.

Target data

Regulates G protein-coupled receptor signaling cascades, including signaling downstream of the muscarinic acetylcholine receptor CHRM2. Inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits, thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form (PubMed : 10608901, PubMed : 11443111, PubMed : 18434541, PubMed : 8774883, PubMed : 9353196). Modulates the activity of potassium channels that are activated in response to CHRM2 signaling (PubMed : 11443111). Activity on GNAZ is inhibited by palmitoylation of the G-protein (PubMed : 9353196).
