Nsp9 contributes significantly to the process of viral RNA replication. It functions within a complex that includes other non-structural proteins forming a multi-protein assembly necessary for efficient genome replication. This process ensures the viral RNA is correctly copied and translated therefore maintaining the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2.
