Indirect ELISA - Anti-SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antibody [F12] - Human (Chimeric) (AB286217)
Indirect ELISA- Anti-SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antibody (ab286217). Indirect ELISA showing primary antibody ab286217 binding to recombinant human coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein (His tag, ab273530). Plates were coated with recombinant human coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein (His tag, ab273530) at 1000 ng/ml. Binding of ab286217 was assessed in a serial dilution range 0.045- 100 ng/mL (a 3-fold serial dilution).
Binding was detected using goat anti-human IgG Fc (HRP) preadsorbed (ab98624) at 1/1000 dilution.

Western blot - Anti-SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antibody [F12] - Human (Chimeric) (AB286217)
Green - ab286217 observed at 50 kDa. ab286217 was shown to react with SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid in Western blot. Membranes were blocked in 3 % milk in TBS-T (0.1 % Tween ® ) before incubation with ab286217 overnight at 4 °C at a 1 in 1000 dilution. Blots were incubated with Goat anti-Human 800CW secondary antibody at 1 in 20000 dilution for 1 h at room temperature before imaging.

Biological function summary
The nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2 is involved in maintaining the integrity of the viral genome. It forms a ribonucleoprotein complex with the viral RNA which is necessary for viral replication. The nucleocapsid protein is integral in the formation of the virus's structure and assists in the assembly and release of new virus particles. It interacts with other viral proteins contributing to the stability and functioning of the virus.
Pathways
The nucleocapsid protein is involved in the viral life cycle and replication pathways. The protein participates in the RNA replication and transcription complex working alongside proteins such as the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase and other non-structural proteins. These interactions within the pathways are essential for the efficient replication of the viral genome and production of new viral particles which are key steps in the virus's lifecycle.
