SCC112 also known as LAP1B is a protein involved in cellular structure and function processes. It has a molecular weight of approximately 75 kDa. SCC112 is expressed in various tissues including liver kidney and muscle. The protein is localized mainly to the inner nuclear membrane where it plays roles in maintaining nuclear structure and function. This localization position allows SCC112 to interact with a range of other nuclear proteins showing its involvement in broader cellular processes.
The role of SCC112 is linked to its ability to regulate nuclear architecture and chromatin organization. It is part of the nuclear lamina-associated polypeptide family and is involved in complex formations with proteins responsible for maintaining nuclear stability.
