SHCBP1 was immunoprecipitated from 0.35 mg of Mouse thymus whole cell lysate with ab184467 at 1/40 dilution. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab184467 at 1/1000 dilution. VeriBlot for IP Detection Reagent (HRP) (ab131366), was used for detection at 1/10000 dilution.

SHCBP1 plays important roles in embryonic development, cytokinesis, neuronal development, tumorigenesis and T cell development. It is highly expressed in thymus but absent in liver. It can be induced in serum-stimulated NIH/3T3 cells. (PMID : 10086341 and 25153088).

SHCBP1 also known as SHC SH2-Domain Binding Protein 1 is a 72 kDa protein involved in cell cycle regulation. This protein exhibits a significant role in the interaction with the SHC1 adaptor protein influencing the signaling pathways activated by receptor tyrosine kinases. SHCBP1 shows high expression in tissues with active cell division such as the testis and several cancer cell lines.
