Transcription factor that acts as a transcriptional activator (PubMed:24886874). Binds cooperatively with POU3F2/BRN2 or POU3F1/OCT6 to gene promoters, which enhances transcriptional activation (By similarity). Acts as a transcriptional activator of TEAD2 by binding to its gene promoter and first intron (By similarity). Plays a redundant role with SOX4 and SOX12 in cell survival of developing tissues such as the neural tube, branchial arches and somites, thereby contributing to organogenesis (By similarity).

ab248687 is the carrier-free version of ab134107.
Mouse, Rat: We have preliminary internal testing data to indicate this antibody may not react with these species. Please contact us for more information.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

This data was developed using ab134107, the same antibody clone in a different buffer formulation.SOX11 was immunoprecipitated from 0.35 mg Y79 (Human retinoblastoma retinoblastoma) whole cell lysate 10 µg with ab134107 at 1/40 dilution (2µg). VeriBlot for IP Detection Reagent (HRP)(ab131366) was used at 1/5000 dilution.
Lane 1: Y79 (Human retinoblastoma retinoblastoma) whole cell lysate 10 µg
Lane 2: abab134107 IP in Y79 whole cell lysate
Lane 3: Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) instead of ab134107 in Y79 whole cell lysate
Blocking and dilution buffer and concentration: 5% NFDM/TBST.
All lanes: Immunoprecipitation - Anti-SOX11 antibody [EPR8192] (AB134107)
Predicted band size: 47 kDa
Observed band size: 60 kDa

Lane 1: Human fetal brain lysate at 10 µg
Lane 2: Y-79 cell lysate at 10 µg
All lanes: HRP labelled goat anti-rabbit at 1/2000 dilution

We have systematically measured KD (the equilibrium dissociation constant between the antibody and its antigen), of more than 840 recombinant antibodies to assess not only their individual KD values but also to see the average affinity of antibody.
Based on the comparison with published literature values for mouse monoclonal antibodies, Recombinant antibodies appear to be on average 1-2 order of magnitude higher affinity.
