Immunofluorescent analysis of 100% methanol-fixed, 0.1% TritonX-100 permeabilized LNCaP (human prostate carcinoma epithelial cell) cells labelling STEAP1 with ab290723 at 1/250 (1.664 ug/ml) dilution, followed by ab150081 Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) preadsorbed antibody at 1/1000 2ug/mL dilution (Green). STEAP1 impacts cellular processes connected to metal ion homeostasis and proliferation. By performing as a metalloreductase it modulates the redox state and availability of metal ions within cells. STEAP1 functions as part of a larger complex interacting with other transmembrane proteins in the regulation of ion transport and reduction reactions. These roles are significant in maintaining cellular metabolism and oxidative balance.
