Syncollin also known as SYCN is a protein with a molecular mass of approximately 13 kDa. It is expressed mainly in the pancreatic acinar cells. Syncollin has critical involvement in the regulation of secretory pathways in the pancreas. Its primary role involves anchoring to the membranes of secretory granules which assists in the controlled release of digestive enzymes. Through its interaction with lipid environments Syncollin maintains stability and functionality of these granules ensuring efficient secretion processes.

Syncollin contributes to the optimization of exocrine pancreatic functions. It acts within a complex that involves membrane-bound and cytosolic proteins which together facilitate the exocytosis of granules.
