Product details

ab314152 is a BSA and Azide Free antibody supplied in an unconjugated format and it is suitable for sandwich ELISAs to quantify Syntaxin 1B. The recommended pair for sandwich ELISA is:

Capture: ab314152, Syntaxin 1A + Syntaxin 1B Capture Antibody (unconjugated)

Detector: ab314153, Syntaxin 1B Detector Antibody (unconjugated)

The reference range value is 0.78-50 ng/ml.

The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization for ELISAbased assays. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type. Please note that the range provided for this antibody is only an estimation based on the performance of the product using the recommended antibody pair. Performance of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay. We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibody in your assay.

Our carrier-free formats are supplied in a buffer free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol for higher conjugation efficiency. The antibodies are provided at an approximate concentration of 1 mg/ml as measured by the protein A280 method. Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with <1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Supplementary information

Syntaxin 1A and Syntaxin 1B are integral proteins in the nervous system functioning in the vesicle docking and fusion process. These proteins are part of the SNARE (Soluble NSF Attachment Protein Receptor) family and facilitate neurotransmitter release at synapses. Syntaxin 1A has an approximate molecular weight of 33 kDa and Syntaxin 1B has a similar mass. Both proteins are expressed in brain tissues particularly in neurons where they are abundant at presynaptic membranes.
Biological function summary

The role of Syntaxin 1A and Syntaxin 1B is to mediate synaptic vesicle exocytosis. They function as part of the SNARE complex which also includes SNAP-25 and VAMP/synaptobrevin. This complex formation is essential for the proper alignment and fusion of vesicles with the presynaptic membrane facilitating efficient neurotransmitter release. This process is important for neuronal communication and synaptic plasticity.

Pathways

Syntaxin 1A and Syntaxin 1B are central components in neurotransmission and synaptic signaling pathways. These proteins interact with other components such as synaptotagmin which acts as a calcium sensor in neurotransmitter release. The proteins' actions are integrated into the broader calcium signaling pathway which regulates neurotransmitter release in response to synaptic activity.

Syntaxin 1A and Syntaxin 1B have connections to neurological conditions like epilepsy and autism spectrum disorders. In epilepsy abnormalities in Syntaxin 1 function may disrupt normal neurotransmitter release leading to seizures. In autism altered synaptic function involving these proteins might contribute to the disorder's pathophysiology. Another protein related to Syntaxin 1 in these conditions is Munc18-1 which regulates Syntaxin activity by stabilizing the inactive form of Syntaxin in the SNARE complex.
