Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Anti-TAF3 Antibody (AB327265)

Immunofluorescent staining of human cell line MCF7 using ab327265 at 0.25–2 µg/ml, showing localization to nucleoplasm & nuclear membrane.

ChIP - Anti-TAF3 Antibody (AB327265)

ChIP-Exo-Seq composite graph for ab327265 tested in K562 cells at 1–10 µg per reaction. Strand-specific reads (blue : forward, red : reverse) and IgG controls (black : forward, grey : reverse) are plotted against the distance from a composite set of reference binding sites. The antibody exhibits robust target enrichment compared to a non-specific IgG control and precisely reveals its structural organization around the binding site. Data generated by Prof. B. F. Pugh´s Lab at Cornell University.

Target data

The TFIID basal transcription factor complex plays a major role in the initiation of RNA polymerase II (Pol II)-dependent transcription (PubMed : 33795473). TFIID recognizes and binds promoters with or without a TATA box via its subunit TBP, a TATA-box-binding protein, and promotes assembly of the pre-initiation complex (PIC) (PubMed : 33795473). The TFIID complex consists of TBP and TBP-associated factors (TAFs), including TAF1, TAF2, TAF3, TAF4, TAF5, TAF6, TAF7, TAF8, TAF9, TAF10, TAF11, TAF12 and TAF13 (PubMed : 33795473). The TFIID complex structure can be divided into 3 modules TFIID-A, TFIID-B, and TFIID-C (PubMed : 33795473). TAF3 forms the TFIID-A module together with TAF5 and TBP (PubMed : 33795473). Required in complex with TBPL2 for the differentiation of myoblasts into myocytes (PubMed : 11438666). The TAF3-TBPL2 complex replaces TFIID at specific promoters at an early stage in the differentiation process (PubMed : 11438666).
