Talin 2 also known as TLN2 is a large cytoskeletal protein approximately 270 kDa in mass. It acts mechanically as an important player in linking integrins to the actin cytoskeleton supporting the structural integrity of cells. Talin 2 is expressed in various tissues including muscle and neuronal systems with expression patterns similar to Talin 1 but has distinct roles in cellular adhesion and signal transduction.

Biological function summary

Talin 2 plays a significant role in cell adhesion and migration processes. It is part of a complex that includes integrins and other cytoskeletal proteins facilitating the transmission of mechanical signals across the cell membrane.
