TBC1D14 also known as TBC1 domain family member 14 is a protein involved in regulating intracellular trafficking particularly in the context of autophagy and endosomal sorting. It has a mass of approximately 70 kDa and is widely expressed in human tissues including the brain liver and heart. The protein functions as a Rab GTPase-activating protein (GAP) and is responsible for modulating the activity of small GTPases which are essential for vesicle dynamics and trafficking processes.
Biological function summary

TBC1D14 plays an important role in coordinating membrane trafficking pathways by interacting with different proteins involved in autophagic processes. TBC1D14 associates with the ULK1 complex which is important for initiating autophagy. Through its interactions it regulates the formation and maturation of autophagosomes which are structures that sequester and degrade cellular components. TBC1D14's function is important for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress conditions that induce autophagy.
