ab232500 is the carrier-free version of ab108999.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

Tetranectin also known as C-type lectin domain family 3 member B (CLEC3B) is a glycoprotein with a molecular mass of about 20 kDa. It primarily exists in the bloodstream where it acts in various physiological processes. This protein expresses itself in other tissues such as liver and lungs suggesting a broad functional role across different biological systems. Its intuitive structure and function mark it for various protein-protein interactions.
Biological function summary

Tetranectin binds specifically to plasminogen a proenzyme which plays a role in breaking down fibrin in blood clots. It is known to be a part of the fibrinolytic system where it aids in tissue remodeling and repair by promoting the activation of plasminogen to plasmin. These activities suggest an integral role in maintaining vascular health and tissue dynamics. Moreover its involvement in these processes highlights the multifunctional attributes of this protein within human biology.

Pathways

Tetranectin is a component within coagulation and fibrinolytic pathways. Its interaction with plasminogen highlights its importance in the conversion pathway of plasminogen to plasmin which is essential in dissolving fibrin clots. Additionally Tetranectin’s contributions in the extracellular matrix further connect it with other proteins such as fibronectin and vitronectin facilitating cellular infrastructure and wound healing.

Researchers have linked alterations in Tetranectin levels with various conditions particularly cancer and osteoporosis. In cancer it associates with tumor growth and metastasis due to its role in tissue remodeling and plasminogen activation. In osteoporosis diminished levels of Tetranectin correlate with impaired bone density and integrative functions. Its interaction with plasminogen within these diseases illustrates not only its importance in fibrinolytic pathways but also its potential as a biomarker for pathological conditions.
