Product details

ab250291 is the carrier-free version of ab181024.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

TID1 also known as Tumorous Imaginal Disc 1 or Tid1 functions as a mitochondrial DnaJ homolog characterized by its cochaperone activity. TID1 assists in protein folding and degradation processes within the cell by interacting with heat shock proteins such as Hsp70. The protein has a molecular mass of approximately 43 kDa. TID1 is mainly expressed in the mitochondria of various tissues including the heart skeletal muscles and brain.
Biological function summary

TID1 participates in maintaining mitochondrial integrity and cellular homeostasis. It is part of a complex involving multiple proteins that mediate signal transduction and apoptosis regulation. TID1 supports the correct folding and assembly of proteins imported into mitochondria directly impacting mitochondrial function. Additionally TID1 interacts with key molecules involved in apoptotic pathways influencing cell survival outcomes.

Pathways

TID1 plays roles in apoptosis and mitochondrial import pathways. Within the apoptosis pathway TID1 interacts with proteins like Bax and Bcl-2 influencing the release of cytochrome c. This release triggers the apoptosome formation activating the caspase cascade leading to programmed cell death. In mitochondrial import pathways TID1 aids the entry and proper folding of nuclear-encoded proteins into the mitochondrial matrix highlighting its connection to these essential cellular processes.

Dysfunction in TID1 relates to cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. Mutations or altered expressions of TID1 can disrupt apoptosis leading to the unchecked cell proliferation seen in cancers. In neurodegenerative contexts TID1's role in mitochondrial function links it to conditions like Huntington's disease where mitochondrial dysfunction is evident. In these disorders TID1’s interaction with apoptosis-related proteins like Bax becomes important in understanding disease progression and potential therapeutic targets.

Target data

Modulates apoptotic signal transduction or effector structures within the mitochondrial matrix. Affect cytochrome C release from the mitochondria and caspase 3 activation, but not caspase 8 activation. Isoform 1 increases apoptosis triggered by both TNF and the DNA-damaging agent mytomycin C; in sharp contrast, isoform 2 suppresses apoptosis. Can modulate IFN-gamma-mediated transcriptional activity. Isoform 2 may play a role in neuromuscular junction development as an effector of the MUSK signaling pathway.
