Biological function summary
This protein contributes to intracellular transport and cellular signaling processes. TMEM91 does not currently have a confirmed association with any multi-protein complexes. However it interacts with cellular membranes influencing various transport activities through the lipid bilayer. The structure supports diverse cellular roles adapting to specific tissue demands where high expression occurs.
Pathways
TMEM91 participates actively in intracellular signaling pathways and cellular homeostasis. The mTOR signaling pathway utilizes TMEM91 to regulate cellular metabolism and growth. In addition TMEM91 interacts with MAPK proteins which play a role in proliferation differentiation and stress response signaling pathways. These interactions place TMEM91 at an operational junction where cellular growth and adaptive responses converge.
