Biological function summary
The mechanical interactions of TRIP6 influence cell migration adhesion and morphogenesis. It functions as a component of the focal adhesion complex where it plays an important role in linking the actin cytoskeleton to integrin receptors. Additionally TRIP6 participates in the regulation of gene expression by translocating to the nucleus and interacting with transcription factors to modulate specific gene targets.
Pathways
The involvement of TRIP6 is significant within signaling pathways such as the RhoA pathway and the NF-kB signaling pathway. Through RhoA TRIP6 contributes to the modulation of cell shape and motility impacting cellular processes such as angiogenesis and wound healing. In the NF-kB pathway TRIP6 can influence inflammatory responses by affecting gene transcription. TRIP6 is associated with proteins like paxillin and focal adhesion kinase (FAK) which are key components in these pathways.
