TSGA10 plays a role in the formation of spermatozoa. It localizes to the centrosome and is important for proper development of the flagella which is essential for sperm motility. TSGA10 forms part of a larger protein complex involved in the maturation and stabilization of microtubules necessary for cell division and motility. Microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 1 (MAPRE1) often interacts with TSGA10 to support these cellular functions.

TSGA10 plays a part in pathways critical to reproductive cell development. It participates in the flagellar assembly pathway essential for the generation of functional sperm.
