ab249214 is the carrier-free version of Anti-TSH beta antibody [EPR8197] ab155959.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
TSH beta also known as thyrotropin beta is a subunit of the thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). This hormone is a glycoprotein with a significant role in regulating the endocrine system. With a molecular mass of approximately 15 kDa TSH beta is one of the two subunits that together form the functional TSH. It is produced and expressed by the anterior pituitary gland. The beta subunit confers the hormone its specificity by interacting with the TSH receptor on thyroid cells.
Thyrotropin beta ensures the thyroid gland functions properly by stimulating it to release thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). These thyroid hormones are essential for regulating metabolism in the body. TSH beta as a part of the TSH complex must combine with the alpha subunit to exhibit full biological activity. The production and secretion of TSH are tightly controlled by the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis which adjusts TSH levels based on the body's hormone requirements.
TSH beta has a prominent role in the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis which is fundamental in thyroid hormone regulation. This pathway involves TRH (thyrotropin-releasing hormone) from the hypothalamus which stimulates the anterior pituitary to secrete TSH. In turn TSH interacts with its receptor on the thyroid gland promoting thyroid hormone synthesis. The pathway includes feedback mechanisms where increasing levels of T3 and T4 inhibit both TRH and TSH release maintaining homeostasis.
TSH beta is linked to conditions like hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism which result from imbalances in thyroid hormone levels. In hyperthyroidism excess production of T3 and T4 occurs often due to TSH receptor overstimulation while in hypothyroidism inadequate production might arise from insufficient TSH levels leading to decreased thyroid hormone output. Disorders with TSH beta involvement may also relate to antibodies in conditions like Graves' disease where autoantibodies target the TSH receptor causing thyroid dysfunction.
