ab247931 is the carrier-free version of Anti-VEGFB antibody [EPR4555] ab110649.
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:
For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. The carrier-free buffer and high concentration allow for increased conjugation efficiency.
This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
VEGFB also known as vascular endothelial growth factor B is a member of the VEGF family. It has a molecular mass of approximately 34-35 kDa. VEGFB interacts with its receptors to promote angiogenesis increasing blood supply to tissues. Expression of VEGFB occurs in the heart skeletal muscle and various endothelial cells. It also shows expression in tissues undergoing high metabolic activities. Besides its angiogenic role VEGFB exhibits participation in metabolic regulation.
VEGFB supports angiogenesis by promoting endothelial cell growth and migration. It acts as a signal protein not forming part of a larger complex. VEGFB binds to VEGFR-1 (Flt-1) receptor which is involved in transmitting the growth-promoting signals. Its function extends to the regulation of fatty acid uptake into tissues highlighting its role in lipid metabolism and energy utilization.
The signalling activities of VEGFB are significant in angiogenesis and metabolic pathways. VEGFB interacts closely with the VEGF-A pathway which is vital for forming new blood vessels. It also shares interactive roles with similar proteins such as VEGF-C and VEGF-D contributing to various angiogenic processes and cellular growth signalling systems.
Understanding VEGFB's role is important in conditions like cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome. Altered VEGFB signalling may link to heart diseases due to its regulatory function in maintaining heart vasculature. VEGFB has connections with VEGFR-1 and VEGF-A indicating its potential involvement in endothelial dysfunction and highlighting its significance in therapeutic strategies targeting such diseases.
