Immunoprecipitation - Anti-YL1 antibody (AB112055)
Immunoprecipitation of YL1. Samples : 1mg of whole cell lysate from HeLa cells(20% of IP loaded). Antibodies : Affinity purified rabbit anti-YL1 antibody (ab112055) was used at 1 μg/ml. Lane 1- YL1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-YL1 antibody (ab112055) at 6 μg/mg lysate. Lane 2- YL1 was immunoprecipitated by an rabbit anti-YL1 antibody that recognizes a downstream epitope. 3- Rabbit IgG control.Detection : Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 10 seconds.

Biological function summary
YL1 influences the stability and organization of microtubules within the cellular cytoskeleton. It is part of a functional complex that involves tubulin which facilitates proper microtubule attachment and detachment during cell division. By modulating microtubule filament properties YL1 ensures accurate chromosome segregation contributing to the faithful completion of mitosis and meiosis.
Pathways
YL1 takes part in important cellular processes related to the regulation of cytoskeleton dynamics and cell cycle progression. It actively participates in the mitotic spindle assembly pathway where it cooperates with proteins such as TPX2 and Aurora A kinase. Additionally YL1 associates with the Rho GTPase signaling pathway which affects cytoskeletal reorganization and cell morphology linking to proteins like RhoA and Rac1 vital for actin and microtubule coordination.
