ZBTB4 interacts with other proteins as a part of transcriptional repression complexes. Its role includes modulating gene expression linked to cellular proliferation and differentiation. ZBTB4 often works together with corepressors such as CtBP which enhances its repressive function. Through these interactions it helps maintain genomic stability and manage cell cycle progression.
Pathways
Research indicates that ZBTB4 is an important component of the p53 signaling and apoptosis pathways. It plays a role in mediating the expression of genes involved in cell cycle arrest and apoptosis which are critical in response to DNA damage.
