ZCCHC7 also known as Zinc Finger CCHC-Type Containing 7 is a protein that binds RNA and plays an essential role in RNA processing. This protein has a mass of approximately 96 kDa and is expressed in various human tissues including the brain and immune cells. It participates in the nuclear exosome machinery interacting with RNA substrates to influence their maturation and stability. ZCCHC7 through these interactions is important for correct RNA metabolism.
Biological function summary

The RNA-binding capabilities of ZCCHC7 impact the maturation of non-coding RNAs such as small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) and ribosomal RNAs (rRNAs). This protein is a component of the TRAMP complex which plays a role in identifying and marking RNA molecules for degradation.
