Biological function summary
Zinc Finger Protein 45 regulates the expression of genes involved in cell growth and apoptosis. ZNF45 forms part of a larger protein complex which includes other zinc finger proteins and co-factors that modulate its activity. These interactions enable ZNF45 to control various cell processes such as proliferation and differentiation. Through its role in transcription regulation ZNF45 affects the overall cellular homeostasis which helps in maintaining normal cellular functions and responses to environmental signals.
Pathways
The Zinc Finger Protein 45 influences the p53 signaling pathway which plays a critical role in cell cycle regulation and apoptosis. As a transcriptional regulator ZNF45 interacts with other proteins such as MDM2 to modulate the activity of the p53 pathway. Additionally ZNF45 is part of the Wnt signaling pathway where it associates with proteins like β-catenin to regulate the expression of target genes involved in cell cycle progression and oncogenesis. These pathways are essential for maintaining cellular integrity and preventing uncontrolled cell growth.
