Supplementary information

ABI3BP also known as target of Nesh-SH3 (TARSH) is a glycoprotein with a mass of approximately 130-150 kDa. It is predominantly found in stromal cells of various tissues including lung heart and vascular system. ABI3BP functions in matrix remodeling and cell adhesion processes. Its expression is often induced during tissue injury or repair making it significant in tissue morphogenesis and cellular interactions.
Biological function summary

ABI3BP plays a role in the regulation of cell differentiation and senescence. It associates with extracellular matrix components and may participate in protein complex formation. Its involvement in modulating fibroblast activity contributes to proper tissue structure and function. ABI3BP facilitates interactions between cells and the surrounding extracellular environment which supports tissue scaffolding and cellular architecture.

Pathways

ABI3BP acts within the TGF-beta signaling pathway and influences cellular senescence pathways. It interacts with transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) an important regulatory protein within these pathways. Through its actions ABI3BP can affect cellular growth and differentiation mechanisms contributing to maintaining tissue homeostasis.

ABI3BP associates with fibrotic disorders and cardiovascular diseases. Altered expression of ABI3BP links to connective tissue abnormalities like pulmonary fibrosis. In the context of cardiovascular diseases ABI3BP may interact with proteins involved in cardiac remodeling such as CTGF (connective tissue growth factor) impacting heart tissue integrity during disease progression.
