Notes
Molecular Mass: CD62P-Fc Chimera migrates as a broad band between 110 to 150 kDa in SDS-PAGE due to post-translation modifications, in particular glycosylation. This compares with the unmodified CD62P-Fc Chimera that has a predicted molecular mass of 111.8kDa.

pI: CD62P-Fc Chimera separates into a number of isoforms with a pI between 4.4 and 7.8 in 2D PAGE due to post-translational modifications, in particular glycosylation. This compares with the unmodified CD62P-Fc Chimera that has a predicted pI of 6.37.

General info

Function

Ca(2+)-dependent receptor for myeloid cells that binds to carbohydrates on neutrophils and monocytes. Mediates the interaction of activated endothelial cells or platelets with leukocytes. The ligand recognized is sialyl-Lewis X. Mediates rapid rolling of leukocyte rolling over vascular surfaces during the initial steps in inflammation through interaction with SELPLG.

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the selectin/LECAM family.
