Precursor of neuropeptides that bind to all somatostatin receptor (SSTR) subtypes (PubMed : 9125122). Inhibits cAMP production induced by forskolin through SSTRs (PubMed : 9125122).. Cortistatin-14. Neuropeptide with neuronal depressant and sleep-modulating properties (By similarity). Acts as a ligand for MRGPRX2 receptor in mast cells (PubMed : 12915402, PubMed : 34789874, PubMed : 34789875).
