Multifunctional C-type lectin receptor involved in endocytosis, phagocytosis and regulation of cell adhesion and migration (PubMed : 17947679, PubMed : 27316686). Plays a critical role in guiding dendritic cells to lymph nodes (PubMed : 27316686). Also functions as a restriction factor for Hepatitis C virus (HCV) at the liver cell surface, likely by inhibiting a viral cell entry step (PubMed : 35297672).
