Biological function summary
GMFG plays a role in neurodevelopment and immune responses. It does not form part of a larger protein complex but works independently to influence cytoskeletal dynamics. GMFG affects the migration and activation of immune cells important for proper immune surveillance and response. It also participates in the development of neuronal structures by modulating actin filaments.
Pathways
GMFG interacts closely with actin-related signaling pathways. It influences the RAC1 and CDC42 pathways both critical for cytoskeletal rearrangements and cellular dynamics. Through these pathways GMFG collaborates with proteins like cofilin and profilin which also govern actin filament behavior. The interaction among these proteins facilitates controlled cell movement and signal transduction required for various cellular functions.
